I had such a fun time photographing this Western Reef Heron as it foraged under soft, hazy moonlight. The gentle sway of green algae, pockets of swirling water and the shimmer of seashells all came together to create a wonderfully surreal scene.
I’ve been increasingly drawn to this style of photography lately. Incorporating habitat into my images has always been important to me, but I’ve been trying to push that idea a little further – to photograph birds in conditions that showcase unique behaviour, interaction or adaptation.
